1. Most of the system is plug and play.

2. Yes, it comes with the latest south african maps. you can download the map you needed to the SD card directly for upgrade.

3.Yes,The rear view camera is optional, you can choose it if you need.

Q: Hello. I just bought a 2007 BMW X5 Sports twin turbo diesel. Has the i-drive system. Out-dated and will not support my Samsung S4 phone, which is a real nuisance. Can you please explain, if I fit your unit, will I get Australian maps with the system ? Is the firmware and maps upgradable ? What functionality will I lose from the Idrive system / menu ? I am electronics technician and very capable of such an install. Is there anything special I need to know or do I have to take the car to BMW after it is installed for anything specific ?
